Deepika Padukone
It is said that Kareena Kapoor was first approached for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram-Leela’. The actress backed out because of the intimate scene in the movie. The role of the leading actress was later passed to Deepika Padukone, after which the movie became an instant hit.
In Season 4 of Koffee With Karan, when Johar asked her what alternate profession Kareena should take up, Deepika instantly said charity, hinting at Bebo’s generosity of passing roles for the benefit of other actors.
Ameesha Patel
After Bebo walked out of her debut movie ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’, the role was offered to Ameesha Patel. Since then, the two share a cold bond which is quite visible to the public.
In an interview given to the Filmfare magazine, Bebo said that while Rakesh Roshan had spent five hours on his son Hrithik Roshan, not even five seconds were spent on Ameesha. She further added that one could see Ameesha’s pimples and under bags on her face.
Bebo was also quoted as saying, “The film is a huge success so I would have definitely become a star had I acted in it. But I don’t know if I want to be labelled as just a star. If I was in the film, I would have definitely got a better deal but I still feel that the attention would have got divided between us. So I’m glad I didn’t do the movie.”
